Adaptive Reuse

The Slayte is an unique and sustainable project as it provides the opportunity to divert waste and recycle. The Slayte's original purpose was an old government office building. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic several office buildings downtown have been wasted and abandoned. By recycling the existing office building infrastructure and adopting the philosophy of "Adaptive Reuse" in design and execution, The Slayte has been a transformative project that brings life back into the structure. As part of the transformation, materials used in reconstruction were given a new purpose and donated to Habitat for Humanity.

The Slayte is not only re-invigorating the downtown core, but maximizes the potential of the existing office building while finding creative and innovative ways to provide a high-quality experience for future residents.
